The Communications Manager will have the unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of the communications strategy to advance the goals and objectives of the ANI as well as to facilitate internal communications about the ANI within WWF.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Network Initiative Leader, the Communications Manager will have to:
- serve as the WWF network focal point for communications for the ANI
- work to ensure that stakeholders and partners (governments, international organizations, companies and individuals) understand and support the goals and objectives of the ANI;
- identify and build new international communications opportunities for WWF in the Amazon;
- develop superb working relationships within and outside the WWF network and advance WWF������s ANI strategy at all levels to create the maximum impact.
Required qualifications and skills :
- University level qualifications in Journalism or Communications; with desirable Post-graduated level in a relevant subject;
- At least 5 years communications experience in a high-profile, preferably non-profit organization with responsibility for devising, formulating and implementing communications strategies and workplans;
- Knowledge of Amazon reality and professional experience in at least one Amazon country;
- Familiarity with a wide range of communication tools and approaches, their potential impact and their suitability for an organization like WWF.
- Demonstrated success in communicating complex issues in a easily understandable and engaging way to a wide variety of audiences at all levels using diverse channels (print, radio, web, TV, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese, preferably both;
- Ability to communicate and present information concisely and comprehensively;
Location base : WWF-Brazil office in Brasilia, with frequent travel to the other countries of the Amazon region as well as Europe and North America.

WWF International is moving into an exciting era of video production and we're looking for an experienced all-rounder to run the Global Video Network. The GVN is a brand new on-line digital video creation, storage and distribution platform and the Video Producer will play a major part in its successful implementation. As well as running the GVN you will be expected to research, shoot, direct, edit, and distribute video content for internal and external clients, to manage the WWF digital archive and to create co-production and media opportunities. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to make a major contribution to the work of WWF - the world's foremost environmental and conservation organisation.
You will need to be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of digital and tape-based television and video production, commissioning and managing freelances, rights & licensing, as well as having excellent editorial judgement and writing skills. - WWF, the global conservation organisation, is looking to fill a full-time position in its Brussels European Policy Office (WWF-EPO) to work as an Economist.
The post holder, working closely with the WWF European network of national organisations, will shape and lead the EU budget review project. This will seek to influence the financial frameworks 2014-2020 with the aim of reforming expenditure areas which have a large environmental impact, including agriculture, regional policy, energy investments, development assistance and subsidy reform.
The successful candidate will have a university degree in economics and at least seven years of professional experience. He/she will have a proven track record as an effective public spokesperson and successful advocacy and policy analysis skills. Knowledge of the workings of the European institutions is required. Fluency in English and preferably another major European language.

- WWF-US seeks a fulltime Program manager for the Africa Biodiversity Collaborative Group (ABCG), a consortium of seven U.S. based non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with field programs in Africa.
The successful candidate will:- lead and coordinate the ABCG; facilitate ABCG������s efforts to explore emerging and high priority themes and linkages affecting biodiversity conservation in Africa and conduct analysis;
- design, direct, and administer the Biodiversity Analysis and Technical Support (BATS) activity funded by USAID/Africa Bureau program including managing subgrants to partners and hiring consultants on issues such as extractive industries, conflict, governance and land tenure, HIV/AIDS and conservation linkages, climate change, etc;
- conduct extensive outreach, communications, and networking with conservation partners in the U.S. and Africa; and
- influence policy makers and donors on key African conservation issues.
ABCG������s mission is to tackle complex and changing conservation challenges by catalyzing and strengthening collaboration, and bringing the best resources from across a continuum of conservation organizations to effectively and efficiently work toward biodiversity conservation in Africa.
The position works closely with ABCG Member Organizations, USAID, and other partners in the U.S. and Africa.

- WWF Hongkong, Carbon Finance Fellow
- The WWF global network, working in more than 100 countries worldwide, is engaging with national and local governments, communities, and business to promote policies and projects to preserve nature and biodiversity and to reduce the risk of climate change. As the world moves toward a new global deal on climate change in Copenhagen, there are unprecedented opportunities to use carbon finance as a source of funding for climate, conservation and sustainable economic development.
WWF������s Carbon Finance Fellow will work with the Chairman and Leader of WWF������s global initiative on Forest Carbon, and other leaders of WWF������s conservation and finance initiatives to develop and implement a coherent strategy for WWF������s approach to carbon finance in the new global climate framework, with a focus on reductions in emissions from deforestation.
This one-year fellowship appointment is a unique opportunity for an experienced executive or professional who desires a sabbatical or a change in career direction and who wants to contribute to improving the earth������s environment. The Fellow will work with conservation experts inside and outside WWF to use the new global financial architecture for carbon to support WWF������s initiatives. The Fellow will provide counsel on carbon finance project development, risk assessment, partnerships, including specific priority projects in Asia, Latin America, and/or Africa. The Fellow will advise on policies for developing sustainable financing (including forest carbon). The Fellow will work actively with others in WWF to use WWF������s convening power to host meetings and seminars with WWF������s partners that bring together decision makers and financial/legal professionals to establish sound policies for carbon finance. From time to time, the Fellow may have the opportunity to visit forest countries and be involved first hand in policy and project work, as early action demonstration projects are an important component of WWF������s contribution to reducing deforestation.
Work Priorities:
The list of priorities will likely evolve over the year and to some degree will depend on the thinking and initiative of the Fellow. The five main priorities currently expected are as follows:- Support the Forest Carbon Initiative (FCI) Chairman to organize the 2010 Forest Carbon Finance Summit, a large meeting in Washington in partnership with Nicholas Institute at Duke University and Harvard Law School������s Program on International Financial Systems.
- Serve as the finance expert in the FCI to conceive, manage, and communicate the strategy for forest carbon finance, including writing and cooperating on papers.
- Coordinate with WWF forest and "sustainable finance" teams in Asia to help develop programs and projects that involve carbon finance.
- Evaluate and comment on, or work to originate, forest carbon policies, proposed pilot forest carbon projects within the WWF network.
- When appropriate, speak to media or conferences about forest carbon or carbon finance generally.
Terms of Appointment:
The Fellow will be engaged on a one-year contract. A fellowship stipend is available.
Qualifications & Experience Required:- Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline, with further post-graduate degree or professional certification would be appreciated.
- Possess a successful career history and at least 8 years working experience in law firms, consulting firms, financial services industry, or accountancy that involves financial analysis.
- Familiarity with the carbon markets a definite advantage.
- Have good knowledge of the capital markets and experience in project evaluation investment analysis, and/or project management is a plus.
- Intelligent, hard working and taking initiative in managing self and projects.

Esta posición trabaja en estrecha coordinación con el equipo técnico y programático de la oficina de WWF en Panamá, para el logro de los objetivos y metas del programa forestal regional. Para ello debe realizar investigación, análisis y organización de la información para la preparación de informes, propuestas, presentaciones y la organización de un centro de documentación que facilite la consulta de material técnico.
De igual forma es responsable de apoyar la ejecución y seguimiento de los proyectos forestales, . En este contexto apoya el monitoreo y evaluación paradar seguimiento a los indicadores y objetivos establecidos para los procesos internos del programa forestal y las propuestas de innovación y mejora que permitan fortalecer el impacto del trabajo de WWF en el campo y una mayor visibilidad de estos resultados al nivel regional.
Entre sus áreas de competencia se encuentra además a organización de actividades y eventos especiales para el programa forestal, tal comola planificación de giras de campo y viajes con donantes, seguimiento con contactos del gobierno, industrias, medios de comunicación y otros. Le Parc National de la Salonga est considéré comme une des régions les plus importantes pour la conservation de la biodiversité en Afrique centrale. Cependant, le braconnage des hommes armés et les conflits liés aux limites problématiques et à la délocalisation de certains groupes humains du parc contribuent à accélérer la dégradation de la biodiversité de ce parc.
L������Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) et ses partenaires sont en cours de renforcer la formation des gardes dans la lutte anti braconnage et de mettre en ����uvre diverses initiatives tendant à la réduction des conflits entre les communautés locales et le personnel de l������ICCN sur le terrain.
Le WWF recherche un consultant pour un appui technique devant permettre aux gardes et à la communauté locale de s������impliquer efficacement dans les opérations de réduction de l������érosion de la biodiversité du Parc National de la Salonga et dans le respect d������une manière consensuelle de ses limites.
TERMES DE REFERENCES
FONCTIONS PRINCIPALES
������ Vérifier et collecter les données géoreférencées sur les limites du parc dans le secteur de Mundja pour validation de la carte SYGIAP.
������ Impliquer les autorités traditionnelles dans le processus de vérification des limites et plus tard de leurs matérialisation en s������inspirant des résultats des travaux de WCS sur la délimitation participative dans d������autres secteurs du parc.
������ Entreprendre des contacts avec les autorités coutumières pour l������identification de la manière la plus efficace et la plus durable permettant l������implication des communautés locales dans la clarification et la matérialisation des limites du parc dans le secteur de Mundja.
������ Coordonner les activités communautaires en collaboration avec Pact.
������ Contribuer au renforcement de la collaboration entre les agents de l������ICCN et la population locale en impliquant cette dernière dans les travaux de terrain.
������ Collecter les informations sur les réseaux de braconnage actifs dans le PNS.
������ Appuyer le Chef de Station de Mundja dans la planification des patrouilles et de certaines opérations pratiques de lutte anti braconnage.
������ Développer et/ou mettre en ����uvre la stratégie pour l������élimination des camps des braconniers dans le parc et ses alentours.
������ S������assurer de la bonne maintenance et du bon fonctionnement des matériels et équipements affectés au fonctionnement des activités du programme.
������ Tenir régulièrement au courant le Conseiller du Parc et le Chef de Site du progrès des travaux et des difficultés éventuelles.
������ Entreprendre tout autre tache pertinente qui lui sera confié dans le cadre de l������exécution de sa mission.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES
������ Formation universitaire de second cycle au moins en biologie, sciences sociales ou gestion des ressources naturelles.
������ Très bonne connaissance de la conservation de la biodiversité avec un accent sur les Aires Protégées.
������ Expérience de travail avec les communautés locales dans la région de la Salonga.
������ Connaissance pratiques dans l������organisation des patrouilles de surveillance dans une AP.
������ Bonne maîtrise du français et du lingala. La connaissance des autres langues locales serait un atout.
